Blues’ thoughts with Wilson family
he thoughts of everyone connected with the Carlton Football Club are with Jim Wilson, Jackie Tarabay and Joseph Wilson, on the sad passing of their six year-old son and brother Sam on Tuesday.
To the end, Sam bravely fought the ravages of an aggressive cancer. His heroic struggle served as an inspiration to many, particularly those in the football community for whom Sam was such a willing and eager participant.
A true Lionheart, Sam kept close links with his beloved Brisbane through his brief but precious lifetime, as his older brother Joseph forged similar ties with his beloved Blues. An enduring image for those at this club is Sam and Joe chesting their respective banners when the Brisbane and Carlton footballers took to the field. This act was once again dutifully completed by Joe at the Gabba last Thursday night, when he broke through the dark Navy Blue crepe as his little brother lay desperately ill.
All members of the Carlton Football Club family are as one with the football fraternity in expressing the deepest of sympathies to all members of the Wilson family on the tragic passing of their much beloved Sam.
